It is the policy of Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), to withhold personally identifiable information contained in our students’ educational records unless the student has consented to disclosure or FERPA allows disclosure. Directory information, such as grades, class schedules, the student’s account, and financial aid awards may not be released without express consent from the student.

degree verifications. The college no longer provides verifications by phone.

Transcripts

DSLCC has authorized Parchment, Inc. to manage the secure ordering and delivery of official College transcript requests. This service provides students with the easiest and most efficient way to send e-transcripts to colleges and universities, employers, and organizations around the globe.

Please note that there is a $5.00 fee associated with each transcript requested. Additionally, the College will no long honor paper form requests or SIS transcript requests.

Grades – Where to find your grades?

Final grade reports are available through myDabney at the end of each semester. All final grades are part of the student’s permanent record and will be recorded on his or her official transcript.

Retention of Student Records

The College retains student records in accordance with the policies established by the State Library of Virginia. The College will retain on a permanent basis an official record of a student’s academic history (transcript).

The College also will maintain a separate student academic folder which may include, but not be limited to, the following: application forms, standardized test results, drop/add forms and faculty grade reports. Information contained in the student academic folder will be retained in accordance with the aforementioned policy and may be destroyed three years from the date of the student’s separation from the College.
