ATTENTION:  The DSLCC ADN Program is undergoing curriculum review. As a result, the LPN Bridge Program will be delayed until Fall 2012...no new applications to LPN Bridge Program will be taken until April 2012.

This does not affect any students applying for admission to the ADN program for Fall 2011.

Applications to the ADN Program for Fall 2012 will begin being processed Jan. 3, 2012.

The purpose of the Advanced Health Care Certificate is to provide a foundation for individuals who are interested in following a career pathway in the health care field.   The program includes courses that are valuable for those who are planning to enter nursing or other health-related specialty.  Students whose placement test scores show the need to increase levels of proficiency in reading, writing and/or mathematics will be required to enroll in developmental courses so that they are more likely to achieve success in the Advanced Health Care Certificate courses.

This Certificate covers topics such as first aid and safety, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, nutrition, developmental psychology, and the use and abuse of drugs.

Program Requirements

A student must achieve a 2.0 GPA ("C" average) or better in health, psychology and biology.
