Administration of Justice Program

Dabney S. Lancaster Community College is committed to meeting the need for well-trained employees in the criminal justice field. Carefully chosen content-specific courses are balanced with appropriate general education course requirements.

Students may select from a variety of options at the certificate and associate degree level. Students who wish to continue on to earn a bachelors degree may wish to discuss their plans with an academic advisor or the program head when they are selecting the courses in which to enroll each semester.

Detailed descriptions of courses in the ADJ programs may be found in the DSLCC Catalog and Student Handbook.

Program Requirements

Approximately two-thirds of the program consists of courses in law enforcement, with remaining courses in related areas, general education and electives. Instruction will include both the theoretical concepts and practical applications needed for future success in law enforcement or related activities. Upon satisfactory completion of the curriculum with an overall 2.0 GPA ("C" average) in all applicable courses, individuals will be awarded the A.A.S. Degree with a major in Administration of Justice.
