A new and innovative exercise class, “Pound©,” is being introduced by the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Non-Credit Program with a free session on Monday, March 6, beginning at 6 pm in the DSLCC Armory on the Clifton Forge campus.

Pound© is a fun way to drum your way to health and fitness,” says the instructor, TiCo. “You’ll have so much fun you won’t realize you’ve worked out until the next morning!”

This 45-minute introductory class is described as, “the coolest, noise-making way to fool yourself into shape by tapping into your inner rock star. Pound© combines Pilates with drumming, using Ripstix™.

After the free  introductory session on March 6, the class will meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7 pm on March 20, 22, 27 and 29, and April 3 and 5. The tuition fee is $30 for any 3 of the 6 sessions or $60 for all 6 sessions.

Mats will be available for Pound© floor work or participants may bring their own. Ripstix™ will be loaned out for use during class. Wear loose workout clothing. Fitness shoes or bare feet are recommended.  The level of the class will depend on the participants.
