Jonathan Musgrove, an adjunct English professor at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, will teach a free creative writing workshop for writers at all levels this summer through the DSLCC non-credit program.

“Welcome to Creative Writing” will meet on four Wednesdays: July 12, 19 and 26, and August 2, from 6:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m. on the DSLCC campus in Room 502. The workshop is capped at 12 participants.

“For those who have never taken a creative writing class, this offering will give an introduction to the creative writing workshop experience in a supportive and nurturing environment,” says Musgrove. “ Inspiration, a look into the work of a range of artists, and a chance to get back to the basics of successful writing are benefits available to each participant at every level. We’ll explore both poetry and short fiction in this overview.”

The only requirements are an interest in writing and the willingness to try out some new ideas, he adds.

Although there is no tuition fee, participants are asked to register. For more information contact Doug Jones, DSLCC Workforce Solutions and Community Education, at (540) 863-2870 or
