Dabney S. Lancaster Community College will host an 80-hour Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) course at Botetourt Technical Education Center in Fincastle, beginning February 14. At the conclusion of the course, students will be able to sit for an on-site American Welding Society (AWS) FCAW certification exam in late May.

The class will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 pm. Beginners are welcome; no experience is necessary. Class will not be held during BTEC spring break, the week of April 10.

The full tuition fee is $2,850, but for those eligible for the Workforce Credential Grant (WCG), the tuition fee will be only $950. The only WCG eligibility requirement is Virginia residency for the last 12 months. Students meeting those criteria may also qualify for even more financial assistance, under the FANTIC fund.

Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and class size is limited.
