2014 Practical Nursing Program Graduates

practical nursing RRC pinning group_May 2014Ten students graduated and received their pins during the Pinning Ceremony for the Practical Nursing Program at the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Rockbridge Regional Center on May 7th, 2014. Back row: Amber Stephens of Millboro; Chrystal Knick, Damien Farris and Stephanie Hostetter, all of Lexington; Cynthia Lively of Glasgow; and Program Head Penny Fauber, RN. Guest speaker was Marlene Cooper, RN, Nurse Manager of ICU and Medical-Surgical at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Each student also received a Certificate in Practical Nursing during commencement exercises May 13 on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus.

New Massage Therapy Program Graduates

massage-therapy-grads-2014_2Students who successfully completed the Massage Therapy program at the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Rockbridge Regional Center this year were recognized recently during a brief ceremony. From left:  Katie Clark of Buena Vista;  Lance Fujiwara, Director of Virginia Military Institute’s Department of Sports Medicine, where the students performed many clinical hours; Massage Therapy Program Head Gloria Lawrence; Jonny Ayers of Buena Vista; Charlene Byrant of Fairfield; and Blayne Oliver of Clifton Forge. The students each received a Career Studies Certificate in Massage Therapy during commencement exercises on May 13 on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus. Lawrence is holding DSLCC’s National Certification from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork certifying that the program has met and exceeded the high standards put forth by the NCBTMB. DSLCC is an ” Approved and Assigned School” until March 15th, 2018. DSLCC was advanced to that status as a result of Lawrence obtaining Board Certification and the NCBTMB visiting and reviewing the curricula.
