Dabney S. Lancaster Community College will host an Affordable Care Act (ACA) enrollment workshop on Monday, March 24, from 2:30 to 7:30 pm in Room 409, Warren Hall, on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus; anyone may attend one of five workshop sessions or attend a 60-minute presentation about the ACA beginning at 5:30 p.m. by Joanne Corte Grossi, MIPP, Regional Director, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, followed by Q&A and enrollment assistance. This event is free and open to the public, however space is limited. Registration is required and available by visiting: https://www.getcoveredamerica.org/events/rsvp/4jj8w
ACA navigators and counselors will be on hand to help you understand your health insurance options and complete your application.
Attendees should bring their social security numbers or document information for immigrants with satisfactory status; employer and income information for everyone in family; and federal tax information.
The deadline to sign up for the new health insurance options made available under the Affordable Care Act is March 31st. Plans that are offered through the new health insurance marketplace are required to cover the basics — doctor visits, hospital stays, preventive care, prescriptions and more, and you may be able to get help paying for the cost of your new insurance or qualify for low cost options.
