The eighth annual Healthy Holiday Happening”, which features relaxing massages by the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Massage Therapy students, and a healthy spa lunch provided by the DSLCC Culinary Arts students, will take place at the DSLCC Rockbridge Regional Center on Saturday, December 2, from 10 am to 1:30 pm.

The Massage Therapy students will be supervised by Program Head Gloria Lawrence, and the Culinary students will be supervised by Program Head Ed McArdle. Both Lawrence and McArdle will be on hand to answer questions about career pathway opportunities for anyone interested in either program.

The first appointment will be scheduled at 10 am for a 50-minute Swedish massage, says Lawrence. The cost is a $35 donation per person. “Also, graduates from previous classes who have private practices in our service region will be providing chair massages for $1 a minute,” she notes. In addition, area therapy businesses will offer affordable holiday gifts for purchase.

“We look forward to being of service to our community and providing a little stress relief during the busy holiday season”, said Lawrence.

For planning purposes, advanced reservations are required, and the number of appointments is limited. Proceeds will benefit the DSLCC Massage Therapy and Culinary Arts programs.
