Dabney S. Lancaster Community College (DSLCC) has an active Student Senate: a governmental structure that promotes cooperation and communication among all students, administration and faculty. It works to provide leadership opportunities, assist with college activities and helps to create policies needed for student government to function.
There are fifteen seats available at the beginning of each fall semester. Candidates must submit two recommendations, one of which should be from a DSLCC faculty or staff member, and a petition with 50 signatures of currently enrolled DSLCC students to be placed on the ballot.
Elections will be held on the fifth week of the fall semester. If any of the 15 seats remain vacant, an election will be held on the fifth week of the spring semester. Members must maintain a semester grade point average of 2.3.

Student Senate Meetings are held weekly in the Student Activities Office on the Clifton Forge campus. Meeting dates will be posted via student e-mail.
