Student Senate
Dabney S. Lancaster Community College (DSLCC) has an active Student Senate: a governmental structure that promotes cooperation and communication among all students, administration and faculty. It works to provide leadership opportunities, assist with college activities and helps to create policies needed for student government to function.
There are fifteen seats available at the beginning of each fall semester. Candidates must submit two recommendations, one of which should be from a DSLCC faculty or staff member, and a petition with 50 signatures of currently enrolled DSLCC students to be placed on the ballot.
Elections will be held on the fifth week of the fall semester. If any of the 15 seats remain vacant, an election will be held on the fifth week of the spring semester. Members must maintain a semester grade point average of 2.3.

Fall 2009 Student Senate Meetings are held in Scott Hall, Room 302 on the Clifton Forge campus and Room 910 at the Rockbridge Regional Center every Wednesday at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm
Visitors are welcome!
Elections will be held for additional members to join during the 5th week of Spring Semester 2010.

Annual Virginia Community College System (VCCS) Leadership Conference
The 2009 VCCS Student Leadership Conference was held in Roanoke, Virginia the weekend of November 6-8, 2010.
The 2010 VCCS Student Leadership Conference will be held in Richmond, Virginia.
