Clubs

 

In addition to the Student Senate, there are several active clubs on campus.  For more information, click on the links below:

Administration of Justice (ADJ) Club


The ADJ Club is a social-service organization, whose membership is open to ADJ majors and other interested students.  Major activities of this club include the Criminal Justice Career Fair in March and the Field Trip to Washington, DC in May.  Fundraisers are held throughout the year, enabling members to defray costs during the field trip.  The club also has a clothing line, "ADJ Gear," consisting of hats, t-shirts, golf shirts and sweatshirts.  Contact:  Gary L. Administrative Services & Technology Club (AST Connections)


AST Connections is a club that promotes business knowledge through leadership, community service, and social and financial activities.  It is open to Administrative Support Technology (AST) students as well as other interested students.  The club participates in the following service projects:  Adopt-A-Highway, Salvation Army and monthly visits to the Brian Center.  Contact:  Tina Dressler, (540) 863-2817.

Dabney Christian Fellowship

Dabney Christian Fellowship (DCF) is an interdenominational group committed to addressing the spiritual needs of the College community by bringing together interested individuals for fun, fellowship, service, ministry, praise and prayer.  DCF activities include topic and Bible study/discussion, praise, prayer, local service projects and a Fall/Spring retreat.  Contact:  Joyce Emerson, (540) 863-2808.

 

Dialogue Club

Dialogue is a club sponsored by the Achievement Center (A-Center).  This club focuses on the diversity of thought that leads to the creation of innovative ideas, which is the real genius of a better college campus.

Forestry Club
The Forestry Club promotes a spirit of fellowship among students in the forestry program and furthers the education and enjoyment of its members in the field of renewable natural resources. In addition, the club encourages students in other programs to participate in its activities.   Activities include Forestry Field Day, annual picnic, trash pick-up in the George Washington National Forest and participation in the Tri-State Annual Woodsmen's Competition.  Contact:  Brigette Parsons, (540) 863-2894.

 

Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa is the largest and most prestigious honor society that serves two-year colleges.  Students must meet specific eligibility criteria to receive an invitation to membership, which is based primarily on academic achievement.  Membership opportunities include scholarships, intellectual enrichment and personal development through programs based on the four hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship.  Contact:  Kathy Smested, (540) 863-2824.

 

Nursing Students Association (NSA)
Mission Statement: The Nursing Students Association serves as a venue for members  to develop professional and leadership skills, to work cooperatively with one another in a spirit of team building and to nurture an altruistic and caring attitude for a healthy community, locally, regionally as well as globally.

Information Technology
Providing for the community and helping people understand the need for technology based careers in our community.Technology makes the world go around.
