Student Senate Guidelines

Congratulations!  You have chosen to run for election to the Student Senate.  The purpose of the Student Senate is to provide the governmental structure required to conduct student activities at DSLCC.  The organization strives to promote cooperation among all students at the institution, to form an effective student government and to create the policies needed for the government to function.

As a member of Student Senate, you will be called upon to help at various college activities and functions.  Always remember that you get back what you put in!  If you are willing to make this commitment and plan to be an active Student Senate member, then you are the type of student that we need.

We require that all students in the Student Senate maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Three seats are reserved for part-time students.  You may have your name placed on the ballot by presenting three faculty recommendations, an information sheet and petition with 50 signatures of currently enrolled DSLCC students.

Please contact Cynthia Boteler, Student Activities Coordinator at 540-863-2828 or via email at cboteler@dl.vccs.edu to obtain the appropriate forms.

Thank you for your interest in the student life at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College.
