Safety Leadership Series, Spring, 2012

For Supervisors, Managers and Leaders

How does your safety program stack up? Are you prepared? This series of four seminars will prepare your staff for a variety of challenges! With Ellen Sanders, MBA,CET, president of ES Consulting, as facilitator.

This module discusses and reviews safety responsibilities and leadership challenges in the workplace.

Objectives include:

  • Identifying qualities of effective leadership
  • Identifying leadership challenges
  • Safety and Ownership
  • Safety responsibilities—all workforce levels
  • Developing safety responsibilities and protocols
  • Evaluating self and your workforce

Seminar Two:  WHEN OSHA COMES

  Tuesday, Feb. 21, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

This module discusses and provides an outline on how inspections are conducted and recommendations on what an employer should consider prior, during and after an inspection.

Objectives include:

  • How OSHA conducts an inspection
  • Types of OSHA inspections
  • Employer’s rights during an inspection
  • What an employer should consider prior, during and after an inspection
  • Types of violations; Penalties

 

Seminar Three:  SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY

This module provides information and understanding on how a motivated and knowledgeable workforce is essential in reducing costs and increasing its overall success.

Objectives include:

  • Understanding the concept of responsibility, buy-in, ownership and motivation
  • Review how the job and Company’s goals are directly and indirectly related
  • Cost potential for non-compliance
  • Job Safety Analysis and how is it used to reduce short and long term costs
  • Training

Seminar Four:  ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION, OSHA 300 AND WORKERS’ COMPENSATION

                        Tuesday, March 20, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

This module discusses how a Company’s profitability is directly related to the employee’s safety practices and the Company’s safety initiatives.  Profitability and security can be compromised by the severity and frequency of accidents and the lack of effective programs in place.

Objectives include:

  • Define accident, incident, injury
  • Investigation mechanics
  • OSHA 300 recordable and reporting requirements
  • Worker’s Compensation
  • Effect on the Company’s ROI and employee effectiveness and engagement
