NAMED GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Named Endowment Opportunities: An endowment in memory or in honor of an individual may be established with a tax-deductible gift. The donor may designate the purpose as well as the name of the fund and may set the eligibility criteria for the award. Endowment funds may be created for scholarships, technology and equipment and/or professional development grants to assist faculty as they seek to enhance and broaden their expertise through educational experiences.

Endowments are an essential resourJack & Mitzi Hammond--Mr. & Mrs. W. B. Hammond, Sr. Faculty International Development Grantce of every successful instituiton of higher education.  An investment in DSLCC's endowment program is held in perpetuity and only the income generated by the principle of the endowment is expended.  Donors are encouraged to create named endowments that satisfy specific needs of the College or that are more closely aligned with their special areas of interest.

Scholarship Endowment:
Endowment income from iKarin R. Ellis--T. Kenneth & Karin R. Ellis Scholarshipnvestments provides resources to assist talented, deserving students on the basis of financial need or academic merit.  Scholarships are a powerful way to make a difference in the lives of others. Giving to scholarships provides a donor with the opportunity to directly impact a student's life through education. Donors may determine scholarship eligibility criteria, which can include financial need, geographic area of residence, major area of study, and/or minimum grade point average.

State-of-the-Art Equipment Endowment: Income from equipment endowments will be used to purchase state-of-the art, industry-standard equipment and training models for students.  This allows the College to offer training on equipment similar to, if not identical to, equipment required in the workplace.  This equipment also will serve as a focal point for attracting new industries with specific job skill concerns. Current areas in critical need for advanced and updated technological equipment are the Nursing, Culinary Arts, Administration of Justice and Advanced Manufacturing Programs.
